YMCA of Medicine Hat Hosts Grand Opening of Y on 2nd

The YMCA of Medicine Hat is excited to announce the Grand Opening of its 18th service delivery location: The Y on 2nd. This event will happen on Monday, February 13th from 3:30PM to 6:30 PM.

Located at 525 2 Street SE, this flagship building is the YMCA’s centre of community, co-locating itsCommunity Programs including Alternative Suspension, Youth in Transition, Y Mind, Camp Jude, etc. By September 2024 the Y on 2nd will also be home to the YMCA’s Employment Services, currently operating at 771 1st Street SE.

The Y on 2nd Grand Opening will start with a short program at 3:30 PM, followed by a come-and-go open house from 4:00PM to 6:30PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the space, meet the YMCA team, and learn more about the programs and services located in this building.

The YMCA brings people together and facilitates human connection, something that is needed now more than ever.”

The purchase of the Y on 2nd was made possible by reinvesting the proceeds from the sale of Camp Elkwater. It was important to the YMCA’s Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team to honor the legacy and impact Camp Elkwater by using these funds to expand community programming.
