YMCA Hosts Open House for Community Programs

The YMCA of Medicine Hat is hosting a come-and-go Open House for our Community Programs this Thursday, March 23rd from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the Community Programs offered out of the Y on 2nd, including our new Y Mind and Youth Transitions Program.

The Y Mind Program is a free seven-week mental wellness program for young people who are aged 18 to 30 and struggling with mild-to-moderate anxiety or stress. Participants learn evidence-based skills from trained mental health professionals and report feeling reduced anxiety, increased well-being and feeling less alone following the program.

YTP is designed to help youth aged 12 to 19 manage life changes and transitions that happen during adolescence.

Refreshments will be offered during the event. There will also be a job fair, where individuals can learn about, and apply for, upcoming summer positions in the YMCA’s Community Programs. Individuals pursuing a career in child and youth counselling, education, psychology, social work, or early childhood development would gain valuable skills working in these summer positions.

There will be refreshments on hand, and Y on 2nd staff to answer questions.
