YMCA Releases Annual Report to the Community

YMCA of Medicine Hat is pleased to share its 2021-2022 Annual Report with the community. The report highlights the organization’s accomplishments over the last year. The YMCA of Medicine Hat has focused on filling gaps in the community including increasing licensed childcare spaces, opening new service locations in downtown Medicine Hat and Brooks, launching an innovative trauma informed day camp and opening new employment programs.

"There's a saying within the YMCA community that goes 'in times of trouble, the Y steps up.'  That’s what we have done over the past year," says Sharon Hayward, CEO of the YMCA of Medicine Hat. "I'm incredibly proud of our team. Thanks to their hard work the Y continues to expand in ways to meet the needs of the communities we serve."

The report was shared with the community at the YMCA's annual general meeting on the evening of Wednesday, November 30th. Attended by staff, board members, and members of the public, the Y took time to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year. The Y also said farewell to two long term board members, Outgoing Chair Dr. Chris Baba and Director Shonna Barth. The Y would like to thank Dr. Baba and Ms. Barth for their hard work and dedication to our organization over the last nine years.
