Downtown YMCA | Ages 13

The Living Fit program provides safe, supportive, barrier-free health and wellness opportunities for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. At the Y we believe health and wellness is for every body.

The program aids individuals with conditions such as:

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Cognitive Disabilities

  • Mental Illness

  • Spinal Cord Injuries

  • Brain Injuries

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Stroke

  • Heart Disease

  • Diabetes

Intake Process

Clients may be referred to the program by various organizations or their physicians.  A referral is not necessary, however, and individuals may join at any time to improve their health and quality of living.

Participants in the Living Fit Program range in age from teens to those in their 70’s and 80’s.  Participants will be required to:

Step 1: Become a Y Member.

Step 2: Book an initial assessment with our Living Fit Coordinator.

Step 3: Obtain clearance from a physician* (if needed after initial assessment).

Step 4: Book a physical assessment with our Living Fit Coordinator.

Step 5: Recieve your tailored program to fit your needs.
